Directions

From the Newport Bridge (RI Route 138 east)


Keep left when you come off the Newport Bridge for RI Route 138 east (Fall River/Cape Cod). At the traffic light (Jai Alai is across the street), turn left onto Admiral Kalbfus Road. At the fourth traffic light (7-Eleven on your left), turn right onto Aquidneck Avenue. In about half a mile, the road starts downhill and curves to the right. Prospect Avenue is on the left, uphill. The cottage, 98 Prospect Avenue, is the last driveway on the right before the windmill (immediately after the Meadowlark Trailer Park). Park at the end of the driveway, behind the cottage.

From RI Route 138 West (East Main Road)


As you enter Middletown, the road goes down a hill. There's a vineyard on the left and a (tree) nursery on the right. Just as the road bends to the right, bear left onto Turner Road (there's a gas station on the corner). Left at the stop sign onto Wyatt Road. Take the first right (Police/Fire station on the corner) onto Berkeley Avenue. Keep straight at the stop sign onto Paradise Avenue. Take the first right onto Prospect Avenue (you have to go over a little bridge). The cottage is the first driveway on the left after the windmill. Park at the end of the driveway, behind the cottage.

From Route 24 South, Portsmouth


Take the Middletown/Beaches exit. Turn right at the bottom of the exit onto Turnpike Avenue. Turnpike Avenue ends at RI Route 138 (East Main Road), at a traffic light. Turn right onto 138 west. Follow the directions for 138 west above.

From RI Route 114 South


When you come over the Mount Hope Bridge into Portsmouth, bear right onto Bristol Ferry Road (four lanes). At the traffic light, get into the left lane and stay straight onto Turnpike Avenue. Turnpike Avenue ends at RI route 138 (East Main Road), at a traffic light with  a CVS on your right. Turn right onto 138 west. Follow the directions for 138 west above.
